After the start of the Tour Caravan from Orbetello to Frascati, #Stage4 of Tour 102, the Oltrepò in Giro | Armonie d'Oltrepò project has stopped in a structure of excellence - La Capalbiola di Capalbio - which interprets Tuscan hospitality with great attention to the territory, nature, nature products and ... the bicycle.

The Consorzio Oltrepò project, which is touring Italy with the vehicle in the Giro's publicity caravan, is one of the actions in collaboration with Ersaf - Regione Lombardia, which also involves the Club del Buttafuoco Storico to promote the revival of wine and other products in one of Italy's most important wine-growing areas.

Among the initiatives related to the #Oltrepòingiro also a series of tastings, the first one led by the AIS sommelier Antonietta Mazzeo, Emilia Romagna delegate of the association Le Donne del Vino, which could be organized in the Luxury Bike Hotels of La Capalbiola in Capalbio and saw a meeting of journalists, restaurateurs, tour operators, all fascinated by the Armonie d'Oltrepò to discover even in a glass of wine. The meeting - guided tasting entitled QUANDO LA TOSCANA INCONTRA L'OLTREPÒ. IN GIRO! was therefore one of the events combined with the project Harmonies of Oltrepò Sponsor of the Caravan of the Giro102, in collaboration with Consorzio Oltrepò - Club del Buttafuoco Storico - Ersaf - Regione Lombardia and has also seen the participation of a cycling champion with ... taste, as Silvia Parietti, Livorno, Vada, who after being a beacon in the blue road cycling (he also won the Italian title) is devoting himself to tourism by bike in her beautiful region and not only through the project Tuscanylovebike. Leading the tasting on a path that is not only technical-sensory but also cultural was the contribution of Gino Cervi, journalist and writer, author of a valuable guide that proposes the Oltrepò Pavese with itineraries on foot and by bicycle with a particular focus on food and wine. The guide, recently presented by the Touring Club, is entitled Oltrepò Pavese L'Appennino di Lombardia.

Sommelier Antonietta Mazzeo illustrated six Oltrepò labels in six stages, recounting the history and future of an area that has always had a vocation for wine: from the consortium label Armonie d'Oltrepò (Oltrepò Spumante Metodo Classico DOCG based on Pinot Nero), to the Oltrepò Metodo Classico DOCG-Cruasè, to two Riesling tastings, one of which is organic, and finally, Oltrepò Pinot Nero red and Buttafuoco Storico 2013.

Six excellences dell’Oltrepò anticipated a fine gastronomic pairing: the companion of the Tuscan territory in this wine tasting was offered by the home kitchen of La Capalbiola, which after slicing the typical Salame di Varzi, another excellence dell’Oltrepò, opened the doors on some typical dishes, such as pappa al pomodoro, omelettes, cheeses, bread and evo oil.
