It is a great honour to meet all these experts from the world of wine in the area for the promotion of the Oltrepò Pavese Denominations. There is alot of enthusiasm for these multi-day meetings and focus involving a wide range of producers, wineries, excellences, catering professionals, the world of viticulture and hospitality, says Carlo Veronese, director of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese.
I havenot been here in Oltrepò Pavese for many years," concludes Veronese, " but I believe, without fear of contradiction, that there has never been a concentration of experts interested in evaluating and enhancing the fruit of the work of a land that makes excellent wines, and not just yesterday. What's more, it is also interesting because of the time of year, before the big international events (Milan, Verona, Merano...). Some time ago it was said that this cluster of Lombardy, which accounts for almost 65% of Lombardy's wine production, had fallen a little off the radar of communication and selected tasters, today it is said and seen to be quite the opposite. Everything contributes to raising the bar of the value of the fruit of this work that the territory is doing and deserves proper recognition.
