The Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese took part in the work of the third edition of the conference Tech & Startup. Food, Wine and Hospitality at the Pirellone in Milan on the topics regarding packaging and technological innovation, an occasion also for the awarding of "The Best in Lombardy 2022" prizes, given at the same time as the presentation of the 2023 Guide "Milan and the Best of Lombardy."

The event organised by Gambero Rosso and sponsored by Regione Lombardia featured some of the most important regional and national food and wine realities that confronted the world of technology and digital technology on the important contribution they have made to the growth of the agri-food sector in Italy and worldwide.

The valorisation of technologies for the agricultural, agri-food and catering supply chain emphasised the Italian value of this sector at an in-depth conference in the Gaber Auditorium of the Pirelli skyscraper in Milan. In the first agricultural region of Italy (69% of the territory is employed) and the leader in terms of demand for modernisation, the development of Industry 4.0 is a determining factor for the growth of companies in terms of both economic marginality and sustainability. In this context, a conference entitled "Tech & Startup. Food, wine and hospitality', moderated by the president of Gambero Rosso, Paolo Cuccia, were, among others, the Lombardy councillor for Agriculture, Fabio Rolfi, the director of Coldiretti of Milan, Lodi and Monza, Umberto Bertolasi the coordinator of Assolombarda's Agrifood Chain, Pierluigi Monceri, the president of Anformape, Marzio Dal Cin, the director of Milan and Province of Intesa Sanpaolo, Pierluigi Monceri, and Stefania Trenti, Head of industry research at Intesa Sanpaolo's Studies and Research Department. Giovanna Prandini, president of Ascovilo, also spoke on the subsequent panel.

The start was given by an economic snapshot of the sector, with the numerical scenario of the agrifood chain, and then it was emphasised that technology can make a very significant contribution to managing contingent emergencies, it helps to be more efficient and more productive, just think of energy saving technologies. But not only - as Stefania Trenti pointed out - they also make a significant contribution to what are the great challenges of a crucial supply chain like this: climate change, desertification, and the increase in world population.

Among the speeches worth mentioning was that of Fabiano Giorgi, coordinator of Assolombarda's agrifood chain, producer dell’Oltrepò Pavese and president of Distretto dei Vini di Qualità, who illustrated the actions implemented in the area with the first conferences dedicated to innovation, organized at theEnoteca Regionale della Lombardia in Cassino Po - Broni (Pv). Fabiano Giorgi emphasized the common goal pursued with Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese of enhancing and promoting such an important area as wine in Oltrepò Pavese, a fundamental productive reality in Lombardy.

Also present at the Milan meeting was the director of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese, Carlo Veronese, who commented positively on the conference, "anopportunity for training and meeting, also for reflections that cannot be taken for granted, thanks to the knowledge of important productive realities of the wine and food and agribusiness sector of which Italy should rightly be proud because it is a world example of success."
