Identità Golose Milano brings the food and wine excellence of the Lombardy region to the forefront on such an important stage as the city of Milan. Thanks to the collaboration with Ascovilo (Association of 13 Lombardy Wine Protection Consortia) and Regione Lombardia. Tuesday, Nov. 29, the third stage is scheduled in conjunction with the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese, after the successful events involving the Doc of Buttafuoco with the Historical Club with Federico Sgorbini's cuisine and Doc paired with chef Damiano Dorati's interpretations.
The initiative is called "Wines and Chefs of Lombardy," a series of tastings (masterclasses and dinner with pairing) that kicked off on Sept. 6 and will conclude at the end of December. These are four monthly appointments, hosted in the spaces of Identità Golose Milano in Via Romagnosi 3, which take shape from the desire to introduce the Milanese public to some of the most important consortia in Lombardy through the pairing of their wines with the dishes proposed by some of the chefs in the area, representing the excellence of Italian cuisine. An ambitious project that is part of a broader program for the enhancement of Lombardy's rich wine and food heritage with an eye on the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.
Never as in this moment do I think that we perceive the need to do an organic work of valorization of the wines of Lombardy - remarked Giovanna Prandini, President of Ascovilo - especially in Milan, which represents a great excellence of Made in Italy for fashion, catering, culture. We start from the awareness of what is great in Lombardy: Ascovilo has the ambition to promote a wine list that can express all the doc and docg appellations of our 13 consortia. We are present in markets all over the world but we have little presence in Milan; we cannot rely only on the generosity and passion of the restaurateur but we must promote additional opportunities beyond the existing ones so that consumers know and appreciate the wines of Lombardy before the great event of the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina. It is a path, not an easy one, that requires joining forces with the Consortia and the restaurant chefs.
Fabio Rolfi: a showcase of gourmet excellence
Milan is Lombardy's showcase to the world. Our region can boast extraordinary food and wine excellences that are not only a vehicle for promotion but also an economic driver at a time of difficulty for businesses. The collaboration with Ascovilo is getting closer and closer and we are achieving very positive results with a view to enhancing wines as an identity card for territories. In this, the alliance with restaurants and chefs is fundamental and I thank Identità Golose for the opportunity, said Agriculture, Food and Green Systems Councillor Fabio Rolfi.
