Oltrepò Pavese Terra di Pinot nero conquers the Italian Sommelier Foundation and does so in the home of the wine and oil culture that FIS, for years, with great expertise, has been pursuing in a path of training and deepening, popularizing and building passions rooted in the value of made in Italy.
Thus, the double event at the Rome Cavalieri in via Cadlolo on April 27, scheduled thanks to a project of activities carried out with the contribution of Masaf, became a double show for the Denominations brought to tasting by Consorzio, in two masterclasses that were both profound and evocative at the same time, shedding light on the quality level of wines from Pinot nero, in all its nuances.
Alessia Borrelli, lecturer of the Italian Sommelier Foundation, with Carlo Veronese, director of Consorzio, carried on the Focus Oltrepò Pavese on wines from Pinot nero - the world's third largest production area (3000 hectares approx.) after Burgundy and Champagne, in a double lectio magistralis that recounted with great enthusiasm a non-trivial land of wine, complex, with many personalities and with an unequivocally distinctive character today, that of quality and territorial identity. Which is not only an end in itself and Pinot nero, but also reverberates through the quality levels and successes of all the other Doc which in total are 6, in addition to the DOCG of Metodo Classico (and 13 thousand hectares under vine, 65% of wine production in Lombardy).
