With 57 Pavia operators, about 5,000 tastings between risottos and typical products,16,000 wine tastings and 9,000 visitors (approx. 40% more than 2022), the 69th edition of Autunno Pavese, the kermesse of the wine and food excellences of the province of Pavia, comes to a close. A definitely positive balance that of the fair, which, in addition to a higher turnout than the last edition, confirms the concrete interest of the participants in the masterclasses, showcooking and workshops offered with sold out for all 40 events offered.
More than 1,000 enthusiasts are involved in masterclasses and "hands-on" workshops: from wine verticals by Fisar, Onav, Ais, Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò, Consorzio Tutela Salame di Varzi Dop, Club Buttafuoco Storico and beer by Associazione Pavese Amici della Birra to cooking classes held by chefs from Associazione Cuochi Pavia to events for children.
More than good scores emerged from the audience customer questionnaires: with an average of 8.50 as the overall rating of the event's enjoyment. The origin of visitors is to a greater extent Pavia but many came from Milan, Piacenza and Lodi. Especially appreciated were the risottos, the variety of products on display and the "hands-on workshops." Also approved with flying colors were the four evenings organized in collaboration with Identità Golose. In particular, it attracted the Pavia audience and (not only) the final evening, which featured Pavia stars Dario Fisichella, chef of Villa Naj in Stradella with frog, parsnip and hibiscus and Valerio Tafuri of Lino in Pavia and his risotto erbe, goat and mackerel, concluding with Bobo Cerea's legendary paccheri from Da Vittorio in Brusaporto. "I would say it was a truly excellent edition," says Giovanni Merlino, Extraordinary Commissioner of the Pavia Chamber of Commerce. I heard from everyone, operators and participants, all satisfied. In truth something even more than satisfied. I am very happy for Pavia, for the Pavia Lands, for the producers of agricultural and food excellence who participated this year. Above all I am happy, and for this I thank them from the bottom of my heart, for the girls and boys of Paviasviluppo who organized this 2023 edition with intelligence and passion. This is the Pavia Fall that we think of. A showcase of the food and wine excellence of our territory. A showcase in which I also invite those companies that over the years have sometimes been critical of the format created to participate for 2024. This year we made a great effort of ideas and resources, but it was worth it. Thanks to everyone and now our gaze is already turned to 2024."
The Autunno Pavese Tour initiatives continue through Sunday, October 15, with 15 more events organized directly at companies. The full program is available at autunnopavesedoc.it.
