WHERE AND WHEN - The Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese is present at the 32nd Merano Wine Festival 2023, November 3-7, and has set its headquarters on Corso della Libertà, a stone's throw from the main entrance of the Kurhaus, the Festival venue. CASA OLTREPÒ - Over the years, the consortium stand has become a point of reference for enthusiasts, who find again this year in "Casa Oltrepò" a showcase space of the appellations with as many as 22 wineries tasting representing the different Doc and the Docg Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico, the flagship of the territory and a Appellation in strong growth in quality and fame.
WITH WHO - Showcase and tasting proposal for companies that have joined the stand run by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese, representing the DOC and DOCG of the territory, at the Casa Oltrepò stand, this year it will be possible to taste the products of: Bosco Longhino, Cà del Gè, Cà di Frara, Cantina Taia, Club del Buttafuoco Storico, Ersaf-Tenuta Riccagioia, Finigeto, Fradé, Frecciarossa, Giorgi Wines, Il Molino di Rovescala, La Piotta, Le Fiole, Losito e Guarini, Maggi Francesco, Manuelina, Pietro Torti, Podere Bignolino, Quaquarini, Terre d'Oltrepò, Torre degli Alberi, and Vanzini Wines. At the tasting, the Denominations represented will be: Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG, Oltrepò Pavese Riesling DOC , Pinot Nero dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC, Bonarda dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC, Buttafuoco dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC e Sangue di Giuda dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC.
INSIDE THE FESTIVAL - The Consorzio finalized the participation of the following companies within the festival this year: Cà di Frara, Conte Vistarino, Finigeto and Terre d'Oltrepò.
THE EVENTS - The Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese - Casa Oltrepò in Merano promotes and provides, as always, meetings, tastings, and activities related to the world of wine and the tale connected to its Denominations. With a program that includes two events in the first two days.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2023 - 3:30 p.m. | Salame di Varzi DOP meets Bonarda Doc, Consorzio di Tutela del Salame di Varzi DOP guest speaker with a very special food&wine insight. In tasting 4 interpretations of Bonarda dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC paired with different maturations of Salame di Varzi DOP. With the presence of the presidents of the respective Consortia: Gilda Fugazza (Vini Oltrepò Pavese) and Fabio Bergonzi (Varsi DOP), with the participation of the director of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese Carlo Veronese. Leading "the perfect marriage" was Bruno Ferrari, food and wine communication expert, professional wine taster, Ais certified speaker, hotel institutes and graduate schools, food and wine aggregator.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2023, 4:30 p.m. | Masterclass! An extraordinary seminar is planned at the Hotel Terme di Merano, entitled "Oltrepò Pavese Terra di Pinot Nero ... but not only." Leading the masterclass will be the director of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese Carlo Veronese with Mauro Giacomo Bertolli, a member of the prestigious tasting committee of The Wine Hunter Award.
THE STAND HOURS | Casa Oltrepò will open each day of the Merano Wine Festival from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. At 12 noon and 6 p.m., "L'aperitivo goloso d'Oltrepò" will be triggered, with tastings of Salame di Varzi DOP, with cheeses from Valle Staffora, Molana, Grana Padano DOP and the traditional "Micca," the official bread dell’Oltrepò Pavese.
HAPPY OLTREPÒ | In the evening, after 6 p.m., Oltrepò Mixology with OltreMito and OltreBitter has become a ritual, but above all, center stage will be uncorking the Bollicine dell'Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG and Bonarda dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC, perfect protagonists for "territorial" aperitifs interpreters of an identity pairing that is easy to remember.
