Pavia and its agrifood excellences at Cibus 2024 with a collective coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce For the first time, Pavia’s excellences are joining forces in a cordate to participate in the prestigious Cibus fair, thanks to the Chamber of Commerce and its Special Agency Paviasviluppo.

This initiative marks a significant moment in the exposure and promotion of quality agri-food products from the province of Pavia. Cibus has always been the benchmark event for the Made in Italy food sector, and its 22nd edition exceeds all expectations.

With a sold-out exhibition portion with more than 3,000 brands in attendance, the fair is set to welcome more than 1,000 international buyers from major target markets. With 120 thousand square meters of exhibition space, Cibus offers a complete cross-section of the Italian food sector, presenting the best of the main Made in Italy Agribusiness sectors. Paviasviluppo organized a 72-square-meter collective booth, which also featured an open kitchen. Here Apolf, the Provincial Agency for Orientation, Employment, and Training, will prepare the renowned signature Carnaroli risottos from Carnaroli pavese using local delicacies such as Cilavegna asparagus, Salame di Varzi salami paste and goose salami paste.

Participating in the Pavia collective to represent the area are the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese, the Distretto del Vino di Qualità dell’Oltrepò Pavese, the Club del Buttafuoco Storico, the Consorzio di Tutela Salame di Varzi, the Consorzio di Tutela del Salame d’Oca di Mortara and the Carnaroli da Carnaroli Pavese brand with Confagricoltura Pavia, CIA Agricoltori Italiani Pavia.

The Pavia collective also joined the CIBUS DESTINATION ON SITE thematic tour, in collaboration with the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo. This is a thematic itinerary during which international buyers will explore the exhibition realities of the fair in an in-depth and original way, focusing on specific sectors or exhibition strands. The Pavia area will be visited by buyers and present its products during the day on Wednesday, May 8.

“The province of Pavia boasts a rich heritage of food and wine products of excellence,” stresses Extraordinary Commissioner Giovanni Merlino, “and the Pavia Chamber of Commerce with its Special Agency Paviasviluppo invests with conviction in these assets, recognizing them as strengths of the province and factors of attractiveness for a public, of an evolved tourist who appreciates a genuine offer, of ancient tradition and distinguished by numerous quality brands, with its own strong product and territorial identity.
